Job Title : Clinical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing, prognosing, and treating patients. Engage in operational support activities to maintain and enhance testing capabilities. Work in specialized laboratories using both manual techniques and automated testing with sophisticated instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Troubleshoot assays and evaluate tests for accuracy.
• Assist with interpreting results and provide operational support to optimize testing.
• Utilize multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
• Work independently and may assist with specimen collection.
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
• Isolate and manipulate PBMCs from patient blood specimens using aseptic techniques.
• Use manual pipettes and have the dexterity to learn necessary laboratory techniques.
• Freeze, thaw, and plate cells for clinical assays.
• Handle human biospecimens following standard lab safety protocols.
• Learn and operate several software programs required for clinical lab technologists.

Work Environment

Work is conducted Tuesday through Friday, 8am-6 : 30pm, with no weekend shifts. The position is based in a friendly, community-oriented lab environment where collaboration and social interaction are encouraged. The lab has around 40 people on the day shift, many in the 22-33 age range, fostering an easygoing and social atmosphere. The lab organizes potlucks, events, and parties through a dedicated Social Committee to maintain its vibrant community spirit.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00 / hr.
