About the job Lab and Deployment Technician
NOTE : This is a 12-month contract assignment.
Job Summary :
The MUOS Lab & Deployment Tech will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser / light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following :
- Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
- Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
- Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems
Responsibilities :
Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systemsConstructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systemsInterprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfacesWill be required to support Deployment activities at customer sites (CONUS and International)Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functionsIdentifies and helps prototype new preventative maintenance tasksWill be expected to lead, direct, and organize Technician workWorks with associates in other departments and understands cross-functional relationshipsMay be required to support development of test specifications and proceduresMinimum Qualifications :

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
