Job description

Regional Utilization Review Manager

We're hiring an experienced and solutions-focused Regional Utilization Review (UR) Manager to oversee and support utilization review operations across multiple Banyan Treatment Centers facilities. This multi-site senior management role is responsible for driving consistency, compliance, and performance in UR processes through structured oversight, staff training, process development, and system implementation.

Position Details :

  • Reporting to : Director of Utilization Review
  • Schedule : Full-time, MondayFriday
  • Location : Remote; this is a Multi-site Regional Role (Travel Required on an as needed basis)
  • Compensation : $65,000 - $95,000 annually

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversight of UR Operations
  • Manage and support facility-based UR coordinators to ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Audit performance related to length-of-stay (LOS) reviews, missed reviews, and payer denials
  • Evaluate coordinator effectiveness and lead performance improvement initiatives

    • Cross-Departmental Communication

  • Maintain strong communication across UR, nursing, clinical, case management, emergency department (ED), and medical teams
  • Facilitate clear, timely exchange of information regarding authorizations and reviews

    • Training and Onboarding

  • Develop and deliver onboarding and continuing education programs for UR coordinators
  • Create region-specific payer tip sheets and operational guides

    • Process Development and Scalability

  • Design and implement scalable workflows that remain effective through staffing transitions and facility growth
  • Standardize UR processes across all regional facilities for consistency and efficiency

    • Tracking and Systems Oversight

  • Develop systems to monitor authorization dates, deadlines for reviews, and hardware / equipment needs
  • Maintain tools to support operational continuity and staff readiness

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
  • Active, unencumbered clinical license (RN, LCSW, or equivalent) is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience
  • 35 years of UR experience
  • Knowledge of payer requirements, regulatory standards, and utilization criteria
