We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Officer to support our client’s operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The Electrical Safety Officer will oversee the Electrical Safety Program, provide subject matter expertise, and act as the primary contact for electrical safety-related matters. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in electrical engineering, safety compliance, and leadership within construction or technical environments.

Serve as the primary contact on electrical safety and administer the LANL Electrical Safety Program.
Provide guidance and expertise to LANL employees and managers regarding electrical safety issues.
Conduct incident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Perform workplace condition inspections to identify potential electrical hazards.
Review Integrated Work Documents (IWD) and Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of electrical safety codes, standards, and specifications.
Provide advanced technical support to engineers and scientists in resolving complex safety challenges.
Evaluate controlled items and services for compliance with electrical safety requirements.
Perform calculations to determine electrical severity scores for incidents.
Develop written electrical safety policies, procedures, and design standards.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant field experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance.
Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards, including NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA (particularly NFPA 70E).
Experience with low-voltage AC and DC systems, electrical engineering, and technology applications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software systems.
Ability to complete and pass Radiological Worker II training.
