Position Summary

The Hiring Manager will also consider candidates for Finance Accountant II. Level of position offered will be based upon the depth and breadth of selected candidate's experience and qualifications. Maintains and applies a strong working knowledge of COSO internal control and SOX / MAR internal control over financial reporting frameworks. Prepares and maintains internal control documentation. Performs testing of internal controls in support of management's evaluation of design and operational effectiveness. Performs root-cause analysis of control issues and recommends remediation. Evaluates Service Organization Control (SOC) reports for relevance and effectiveness. Prepares SOX / MAR / COSO internal control risk assessments. Identifies process improvements, as necessary.

Maintains a strong working knowledge of various business processes and IT systems / applications. Evaluates the impact of ongoing changes to each, and provides recommendations for enhanced accounting, risk assessment, process, and internal control documentation.

Maintains and applies a strong working knowledge of GAAP / SEC and SAP / NAIC accounting guidance and COSO / SOX / MAR / PCAOB regulatory guidance to evaluate the effects / impacts of guidance / changes on relevant financial statement risk assessment and control processes.

Coordinates and collaborates with multiple business areas, IT, and internal and external auditors. Facilitates communications among all parties ensuring deliverables are met and pertinent information is exchanged. Provides support and guidance to internal control stakeholders, as needed.

Identifies and recommends process improvement and automation opportunities, challenging current processes for increased effectiveness and efficiency. Coordinates and completes special projects as required.

Previous auditing experience and project management skills preferred. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with a collaboration style and ability to work independently as well as within a team environment required.

Under minimal supervision, performs complex accounting functions to organize, analyze, track and report financial activities on both a statutory accounting principles (SAP) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis.
