We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Corona, CA. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll operations for a diverse workforce across multiple states. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of wage laws, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a Contract-to-long-term opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with payroll administrators to compile and verify timekeeping records for payroll processing.
- Coordinate payroll activities across multiple divisions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Process payroll for a mix of union and non-union employees, including both hourly and salaried staff.
- Manage electronic timesheets on a weekly basis for approximately 1,200 employees.
- Handle multi-state payroll processing, adhering to state-specific regulations including California.
- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and certified payroll requirements.
- Utilize Excel and payroll systems to manage imports, analyze data, and generate reports.
- Communicate effectively with accounting team members and division representatives to resolve payroll-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of garnishments and other deductions in accordance with legal standards.
- Support the overall payroll function to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Proven experience in payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.
- Knowledge of wage laws and prevailing wage regulations.
- Familiarity with certified payroll and construction industry practices.
- Proficiency in Excel and payroll systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data with accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Dependable work ethic with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Previous experience working with union and non-union payroll preferred.
