Registered Nurse Job Details Location : Charlottesville, VA 22908 (Virginia nursing jobs) Assignment Length : 13 weeks Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Unit : Level III NICU (54 beds) Patient Ratios : 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 for ICU, 1 : 3 for Stepdown Floating : Required to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery (baby catcher) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1840 - $1890 NICU RN Qualifications Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU nursing experience required; Level IV NICU experience highly preferred Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia (Virginia RN jobs; pending license accepted, must have before start) BLS and NRP certifications required Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can submit with pending, must obtain before start) Epic EMR charting experience preferred BSN preferred Ability to work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) References required NICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, evidence-based neonatal care to infants with complex medical needs Operate advanced NICU equipment : high frequency ventilators, iNO, ECMO, whole body cooling devices Assist with specialized procedures : intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, umbilical line placement, chest tube placement Administer and titrate IV fluids, medications, and provide hemodynamic support Perform neonatal dosage calculations, ABG interpretation, wound / drain / line care Float to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery as needed within scope of practice Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services Document patient care using Epic EMR system Participate in orientation and required modules (up to 16 hours non-billable) Ready to take the next step in your NICU nursing career?
