Job Description
Ensure production and facilities equipment is operational by responding to emergency, routine, and preventive maintenance. Equipment includes but is not limited to CNC equipment, robotics, control systems, pumps, welders, punches, presses, shears, cranes, hoists, conveyors, heating and cooling ventilation systems, electrical systems, small hand tools, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment, and paint equipment.
Work with all electrical components, relays, sensors, AC and DC motors, drivers, servo systems, and pneumatics systems. Perform PLC program creation and modifications, and electronic modifications to production equipment. Work with voltages ranging from 5 VAC to 600 VAC.
Provide and coordinate production reliability improvement efforts and troubleshooting support with production, maintenance, and engineering teams. Coordinate trade and OEM-service contractors, ensuring work conforms to safety standards.
Maintain control and electrical drawings, PLC / HMI programs, and perform basic electrical troubleshooting. Collaborate on projects to improve processes, equipment reliability, safety, quality, and capacity. Exercise independent decision-making for complex troubleshooting, installation, and repair tasks.
Operate tools and machines necessary for maintenance, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment using schematics and manuals, and assist in diagnosing complex equipment breakdowns. Follow all safety requirements and contribute to safety and efficiency improvements.
Assist in machine setup, design, fabrication, and equipment maintenance. Provide technical support to projects, assist in rigging and relocating heavy machinery, and perform maintenance inventory management. Work under supervision with clearly defined tasks, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications include a 2-year degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year in automation and controls. NFPA 70E certification is required, OSHA preferred. Must be capable of troubleshooting PLC and HMI programs, reading electrical schematics, and using diagnostic tools. Willingness to learn and adhere to safety standards is essential.
