Job description10+ years in software development; 3+ years in enterprise architecture or solutions engineering Strong command of Java and backend system design Expertise in cloud architecture (AWS preferred), infrastructure as code, and CI / CD automation Proven ability to design secure systems in regulated environments Deep understanding of distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures Experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes / ECS) Familiarity with messaging queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ Comfort with both relational (MySQL) and NoSQL databases Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at multiple levels Leadership-level impact on enterprise architecture and system strategy Work that blends complex engineering challenges with meaningful industry impact Strong benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) Fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on modern tech and forward momentum

Overview
My client is seeking a strategic, technically deep Solutions Architect Engineer to drive enterprise transformation across their core platforms. This role is for a systems thinker who thrives at the intersection of modern architecture, scalability, and security. If you're motivated by solving complex infrastructure challenges and shaping the technical direction of business-critical systems, this role offers a meaningful leadership path.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and implementation of secure, scalable backend systems
- Design modular APIs, microservices, and integration frameworks aligned with long-term platform goals
- Embed compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI) directly into system design
- Guide containerization, DevOps pipelines, and cloud-native deployments on AWS
- Drive modernization initiatives across legacy infrastructure
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Security, Product, and Operations teams
- Contribute to architectural planning for AI / ML integration
- Mentor developers, championing clean code and system reliability best practices
