The Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and clinical support to ensure efficient, high-quality service within a fast-paced Urology clinic. This role supports physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses by assisting with patient flow, preparing exam rooms, performing basic clinical procedures, and maintaining a professional and compassionate patient experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Greet and prepare patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.
Assist with urologic procedures such as catheterizations, bladder scans, post-void residuals, and specimen collection.
Support providers during in-office procedures and ensure appropriate supplies and instruments are available.
Clean, stock, and prepare exam and procedure rooms according to infection control standards.
Collect, label, and process urine and other specimens per clinic protocols.
Enter data and maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, hygiene, and follow-up instructions as directed.
Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Support front-desk and administrative functions as necessary to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications : Required :
High school diploma or GED.
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and team members.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs (assist with patient positioning or equipment).
