Job description

Job Title : Small Projects Superintendent

Location : Central Texas

Division : Small Projects Service Division

Reports To : Division Manager

Salary Range : Competitive base + bonus structure (based on volume and margin)

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Small Projects Superintendent to lead, manage, and execute a large volume of small-scale construction projects (under $300K) across residential and light commercial sectors. This role combines project estimation, subcontractor coordination, and on-site supervision to ensure timely, profitable delivery of high-quality work. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this high-paced, client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Estimating & Pre-Construction

  • Review project scopes, conduct site visits, and develop estimates for jobs under $300K
  • Prepare material takeoffs and identify required subcontracted trades
  • Create proposals using company estimating software
  • Negotiate and draft subcontractor scopes of work
  • Ensure estimates meet gross margin and production capacity goals

Project Execution & Supervision

  • Manage multiple small projects concurrently—from award through closeout
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors and internal labor
  • Ensure each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to spec
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct jobsite inspections
  • Coordinate material deliveries and resolve logistical issues proactively

    • Project & Division Performance

  • Track project profitability and provide variance reports
  • Manage client communication and change order approvals
  • Document project progress with daily reports, photos, and milestone check-ins
  • Support backlog forecasting and assist in hitting monthly revenue targets

    • Requirements : Experience

  • 5+ years in construction supervision, project management, or estimating
  • Proven ability to manage 10–20 concurrent jobs (or $2M+ annual volume)
  • Experience with residential, commercial tenant improvements, or facility maintenance projects

    • Skills

  • Strong estimating and scope development capability
  • Excellent communication skills — verbal and written — with clients, team members, and subcontractors
  • Exceptional organizational, scheduling, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Proficiency in construction software
  • Leadership mindset with a focus on team coordination and accountability

    • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s in Construction Management a plus)
  • OSHA 10 / 30 certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

    • Success Metrics :

  • Revenue managed : $2M+ annually
  • Average project duration : 1 day to 4 weeks
