ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Penn Yan, New York.

Full time 3x12 hour shifts (7p-7a / 7a-7p) with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient need, develops a collaborative plan of care, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. This position focuses on acute medical and surgical patients with specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient and family needs through active listening and careful observation.
  • Develop individualized, culturally relevant plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and the health care team.
  • Promote health, safety, and rights of patients while advocating for their needs.
  • Provide patient and family education for self-care post-discharge, addressing lifestyle changes for health improvement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practice and engage in self-evaluation for professional development.
  • Document patient education and responses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Implement and comply with infection prevention strategies and safety protocols.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • New York State Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Med / Surg environment.
