Job descriptionProvide direct nursing care to patients in the psychiatric unit, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment. Administer medications and therapeutic interventions as prescribed by physicians. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition, including crisis intervention when necessary. Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge instructions. Support a safe and therapeutic environment by adhering to facility protocols and safety standards. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state. Minimum of 2 years recent psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred. BLS certification required; CPI or equivalent crisis intervention training preferred. Strong communication, de-escalation, and therapeutic relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and maintain professionalism.
