The core aspects of the Deals Desk role are Risk Management & Reporting and Product Control functions of accounting and financial reporting. Risk Management entails measuring, verifying, reporting and mitigating risks arising out of the physical and derivative natural gas business. Product Control entails validating the accuracy and legitimacy of the accounting and financial reporting of the Profit and Loss numbers arising out of the business. Management Reporting of performance with historic comparisons and market analysis.
