American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with a focus on acuity-adaptable care and eligibility for charge roles.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a PCU / stepdown acuity-adaptable unit within a short-term acute care hospitalCare for varied patient populations including MS, PCU, stepdown, and ICU level carePatient diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, UTI, and CHFPatient ratios range from 1 : 4-6 depending on acuity and patient typeNight shifts available (3x12 or 4x12 hours)Every other weekend requiredMust be willing to float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as neededCerner EMR system is used and experience is requiredResponsibilities include providing care for patients across MS, PCU, stepdown, and ICU levels of acuityCharge nurse responsibilities may be assigned with eligibility for additional payAll travelers will complete pre-start modules averaging 4-6 hoursCandidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidaysFloating is mandatory for all travelers and may include affiliate sitesFirst-time travelers are welcomeScrub color is black bottoms with red topsFree parking is available onsiteUp to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; more requires facility approval\n \n Requirements\n
Active IN or Compact RN license required prior to start, temporary licenses may be considered with pending permanent applicationMinimum of 18 months to 2 years of recent PCU / stepdown / IMC experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted and must be current)Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university is requiredMust provide two supervisor references for considerationMust not be a local resident of IN for this unit per policyPrevious permanent or PRN employees must be separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler\n Benefits\n
