About The Position

Must-Have :

• Level 1 Trauma Experience
• Ability to Titrate Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin Drips
• Competency in Foley Catheter Insertion and Central Line Dressing Changes

Description :

The unit consists of 32 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4.

Registered nurses will be expected to complete critical clinical skills assessments, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.

Candidates should have prior neuro experience and be able to interpret EKGs.

The unit provides central monitoring capabilities.

The average length of stay for patients is between 4 to 5 days.

This is a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.

Daily responsibilities include bedside reporting and potential floating to overflow telemetry units.

Common patient diagnoses include trached patients, CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, psychiatric issues, and brain tumors.

There is a team available for difficult IV sticks.

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are accessible 24 / 7.

Nurse aides are available during shifts to assist with basic tasks.

Weekend requirements include 4 shifts every 8 weeks.

Holidays will be integrated into the permanent holiday rotation.
