The Director - Finance Transformation will play a critical leadership role within the Accounting & Finance organization during the transition to a new enterprise ERP platform. This position serves as a key liaison between Accounting, Finance, and the implementation team—ensuring the organization’s financial requirements are accurately captured, validated, and embedded into the system design.
Acting as a subject matter expert, this individual will safeguard compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal control standards, support process optimization efforts, and help ensure the ERP deployment enhances the accuracy, transparency, and scalability of financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings extensive technical accounting experience, prior public-company exposure in a highly regulated industry, and a proven history of supporting large-scale system or ERP transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Accounting / Finance representative throughout ERP implementation activities.
- Provide direction on system design for key areas including general ledger, procure-to-pay, reporting, and compliance workflows.
- Support data migration by validating the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Participate in system testing and user acceptance activities to ensure end-to-end financial processes perform as intended.
- Assist in documenting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to the new system.
- Ensure the ERP configuration aligns with GAAP, SOX, and internal control frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, and audit partners to validate system compliance and appropriate ITGCs.
- Identify financial reporting risks and recommend enhancements to strengthen internal controls.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual accounting and reporting processes.
- Provide input on process-automation initiatives aimed at improving accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Deliver ongoing guidance and support to Finance and Accounting team members as they transition to the new ERP environment.
- Assist with change management and user adoption across the broader Finance organization.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.A combination of education and experience will be considered.Approximately 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience within a publicly traded, highly regulated environment.Prior involvement in ERP implementation or transformation initiatives, ideally with hands‑on support from an Accounting / Finance perspective.Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and SOX compliance.Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and automation within Finance and Accounting operations.Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills.Strategic problem‑solver with the ability to work across functions and influence outcomes.CPA strongly preferred.Seniority level
