Data Center Engineer (Servers and Racks / 5 days)

Overview

Our client, a security solutions provider with 25+ years in the industry, specializes in delivering comprehensive turn-key security systems from design and integration to maintenance and support for government, trade and commercial sectors. They are looking for a Data Center Engineer to join their expanding team.

Location and Working Hours

Location : North / West

Working hours : Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned operational tasks and escalate issues appropriately during peak workload periods or escalation scenarios.
• Coordinate with external vendors to initiate and manage warranty claims for failed hardware components, including collecting information, packaging, shipping, and confirming receipt of returned items in compliance with established SLAs.
• Apply process knowledge and sound judgment to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Maintain an awareness of how day-to-day tasks impact broader Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) operations.
• Accurately manage and update asset information across multiple inventory tracking systems, including configuration management databases and asset repositories.
• Ensure precise physical inventory tracking, organization, and staging of hardware.
• Assist in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies and help generate related reports.
• Carry out secure data destruction of data-bearing devices (DBDs) in accordance with company policies and SLA requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and notify appropriate personnel when restocking is needed. Escalate supply chain or inventory-related concerns as required.
• Always adhere to security protocols and data handling policies.
