Veterinary Technician – Lead Internal Medicine   Shift / Schedule : 4 day, 10 hour shift   Round Rock, TX   Heart of Texas is looking for a Lead Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. About You The lead internal medicine technician will be responsible for encouraging efficient workflow of the department, training a guidance of the the team, oversight of the technician schedule, and working with leadership to develop and maintain hospital and departmental policies.  Internal Medicine technicians perform a variety of animal-health duties and ensure quality pet and client care. They should be proficient in duties including but not limited to : pet parent communication, anesthesia, patient monitoring, venipuncture, patient recovery, and medical math. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of anesthetics, diagnostic imaging, laboratory techniques, and  general patient care. They should be able to remain calm during stressful situations.  Our Ideal Candidate :

• Has knowledge of basic veterinary practices
• Able to appropriately handle animals
• Able to assist in veterinary medical procedures
• Recent experience in a veterinary practice
• Has internal medicine experience
• Willing to help in multiple specialty / eR departments as needed
• Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
