Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Water Quality Engineer for immediate full-time employment. We are seeking candidates that have a strong focus on water quality compliance. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below :

  • Research, review, and analyze water quality policy and regulations.
  • Lead regulatory compliance tasks relating to stormwater and wastewater management.
  • Prepare and review Water Quality Management Plans, which communicate stormwater and wastewater regulations affecting the management of water sources at a facility.
  • Prepare and review Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
  • Review and assess compliance methodologies employed at a facility and provide feedback and creative solutions to reduce overall risk of non-compliance.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff while managing tasks of varying sizes and complexity.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 6 years of engineering experience focused on water quality compliance
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license is required for this role
  • Nationwide travel (50% of the time)
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of engineering experience focused on water quality compliance
  • P.E. license is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that implement the Clean Water Act
  • Strong writing, critical thinking, and reasoning skills
  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD software
  • Experience reviewing and / or writing Spill Prevention Countermeasure Control (SPCC) Plans
  • Mentorship Experience
  • Experience consulting DOD clients
  • Knowledge of DOD management practices as they relate to environmental compliance
  • Strong focus and attention to detail
  • Additional Information :

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $145,000
