Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position with night shifts, requiring an active NJ or compact license and current certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 12-bed Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 2
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 19 : 00-7 : 30)
  • Must work every third weekend
  • Required to float within skillset as needed
  • Uses EPIC EMR for charting
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Responsible for maintaining central lines, managing medications, assisting with high-risk deliveries, recovering c-sections, performing sterile vaginal exams, and triaging obstetric patients
  • RNs are expected to float within their skillset depending on patient census and acuity
  • Holiday coverage is required for 2 of the 3 winter holidays
  • Block scheduling is not permitted unless approved in advance
  • First-time travelers must have current Labor and Delivery experience
  • No on-call requirements
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
  • Returning employees must have at least 1 year since last working in the system to be eligible

  • Active NJ or compact RN license required upon start
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN, and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
  • Experience with central line maintenance, medication administration, assisting with high-risk deliveries, c-section recovery, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage required
  • Must complete modules and EPIC training prior to start
  • Background and license must be clear of open or active issues
  • References required for consideration
