The Florida Department of Education has an open position for a Program Specialist IV. This highly professional position is responsible for providing technical assistance for program / school improvement and monitoring school district and state agency programs to facilitate the increase of student achievement, the review of project applications / amendments, assist in the interpretation of appropriate federal / state laws, regulations, policies and procedures as related to educational disadvantaged and at-risk students in assigned regions. Employee's time and effort are assigned to a dedicated function as is indicated on the monthly payroll.

The duties and responsibilities include assisting the Bureau of Federal Educational Programs and local educational agencies in implementing all aspects of the Title I, Part A (TIPA) program as prescribed in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), assisting school districts in improving and increasing student academic achievement, participating in the development of program goals and objectives, serving as a primary liaison to assigned LEAs, providing training to ensure LEAs comply with requirements, reviewing program applications and amendments, conducting evidence-based program monitoring activities, and providing ongoing technical assistance to LEAs.

The ideal candidate must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions, and interact courteously with others. The minimum qualifications include three years of professional experience working with education programs or grants and clerical experience, ability to communicate effectively, and ability to provide work samples of writing skills.
