Position Overview
CMTA is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer with at least 10 years of experience in plumbing design. This individual will work closely on energy‑efficient projects for various clients, providing workable solutions from design through construction administration. The role requires a self‑motivated, technically skilled professional who thrives on resolving challenges, assisting clients, and leading all phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Design plumbing systems, including piping and equipment selection for building use, pressurized gases, and fire protection.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
Generate electronic responses to design questions and reviews.
Review contractor submittals and drawings to ensure conformance with contract documents and applicable codes.
Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and calculations for equipment research, piping layout, and pipe sizing.
Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system deficiencies, and provide technical information.
Research and analyze client design proposals, manuals, and other criteria to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance.
Develop client relations by giving feedback to design engineers on customer concerns and needs.
Desired Education and Experience
10+ years of plumbing design experience.
Certified Plumbing Designer – ASPE.
Excellent communication skills.
AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.
Ability to travel for field work at client sites.
