Senior Principal Engineer Specialist

Provides general technical, engineering management, and specialized subject matter expertise to the standards and technical report development process for the commercial aviation industry. Manages multiple subcommittees, working groups, and / or user forum projects developing applicable industry guidance, standards and technical reports. Business activities include but are not limited to the development, management and marketing of standards & technical reports, qualification / certification programs, referee materials, cooperative research and identifying markets for the same. Supports implementation of company strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. Expected to handle more complex engineering / technical issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Applies specialized job specific technical / engineering expertise in project management and product development. Supports industry through demonstrated ability to influence task groups to achieve industry desired outcomes
• Performs project engineering management for working groups, and / or user forums as assigned, including :

Develop proposals for statement of work for new and revised standards & technical reports

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment with hybrid flexibility. Requires extended periods of computer use, sitting, and concentration, with occasional light lifting of up to 15 pounds. Position may involve limited domestic and international travel (up to 10-15%) for meetings and conferences, as well as flexibility to participate in calls across multiple time zones. Standard business hours apply, with occasional extended hours to meet deadlines and support industry events.
