About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Department Nurse

Profession : RN

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : 12 Hour Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of two years in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing

License : State RN License

Certifications : ACLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, BLS AHA

Must-Have :

• Minimum of two years of Emergency or Critical Care Nursing experience
• Experience with electronic medical record systems

Description :

Demonstrated proficiency in Emergency Care nursing knowledge and skills is required.

Provides an accurate, holistic assessment of assigned patients to determine appropriate healthcare needs.

Establishes patient care priorities based on the needs of patients of all ages.

Utilizes assessment data to develop and maintain a holistic, ongoing nursing plan of care.

Administers therapeutic measures consistent with professional standards in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Carries out appropriate nursing interventions as necessary.

Interprets patient and diagnostic data on an ongoing basis to determine appropriate nursing actions.

Establishes a work environment that facilitates the accomplishment of patient care goals in an organized manner.

All job functions and communications are carried out cooperatively to encourage team spirit among departments.

Equipment utilized includes IV pumps, Glide scopes, Sonosite, Level I, and Lucas II.

Experience with electronic medical records systems is preferred.

No floating to other units is required.

Nurse to patient ratio varies; typically three nurses are staffed for 24 hours with a fourth nurse for 12 hours.

Scrubs are required as part of the dress code.

Initial competency assessment will be completed by a supervisor, which includes orientation to the department.

On-call duties may be required as needed.
