Description\n\nSummary : As a skilled Registered Nurse, you will practice independently in an ICU MedSurgical setting, demonstrating a strong awareness of clinical situations. You will provide both routine and complex care, focusing on long-term patient goals and effectively managing the dynamics of clinical nursing. You will have the opportunity to delegate tasks to other care providers to enhance the quality of clinical care delivered.\n\nResponsibilities : \n

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care following the nursing process : assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.\n
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, tailoring your approach to their level of practice.\n
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment efficacy.\n
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.\n
• Assess learning needs and deliver educational resources to patients, families, and care givers while identifying relevant issues and support.\n\nJob Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills : \n
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.\n\nExperience : \n
• Preferred : 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty, though new graduates are also welcome to apply.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications : \n
• BLS certification is required.\n
• RN License in state of employment or compact is mandatory.\n\nPosition Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills\n
• All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.\n
• New hires will be paired with a designated preceptor for onboarding, ensuring that competency requirements are met through successful completion of both organizational and Critical Care Department-specific trainings.\n
• Fulfill all annual competency verification requirements.\n\nExperience\n
• One year of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred; however, new graduates may apply.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
• Current ACLS certification is required.\n\nIn accordance with CHRISTUS Health policies, all associates must obtain required certifications within designated timeframes.\n\nCredential Grace Periods : \n
• Candidates with at least one year of acute care experience in a similar setting in the past three years are considered Experienced Associates.\n
• Candidates lacking this experience within the past three years will be classified as New Graduates or Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.\n\nGrace Periods for Credentials : \n\nExperienced Associates : \n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) : No grace period. AHA or Red Cross accepted at time of hire.\n
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) : Within 30 days of hire.\n
• Pediatric Life Support (PALS) : Within 30 days of hire.\n
• Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) : Within 60 days of hire.\n
• Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) : Within 60 days of hire.\n
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) : Within 30 days of hire.\n
• AWHONN INTERMEDIATE FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) : Within 30 days of hire.\n
• STABLE (Neonatal Education) : Within 30 days of hire.\n\nNew Graduates & Experienced Associates New to the Specialty : \n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) : No grace period. AHA or Red Cross accepted at time of hire.\n
