Job Title : Senior Procurement Specialist

Reports to : Plant Management
This is a senior level procurement position with daily interaction with Plant leadership, Scheduling, Engineering and Shop Personnel. The focus of this role is to maintain and improve current supply chains, both domestic and internationally (China) and procure the highest quality material and services at the best overall price within approved company policies to maintain current and forecasted production levels.
The business is a growing, fast-paced, high mix environment with approximately 25% of the products being custom engineered. Sourcing needs and requirements will be derived through MRP systems as well as through focused inventory level tracking for stock components. Oversight of all Inventory control functions in the facility will also be a responsibility of this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Bring a strong sense of urgency and personal accountability in a team environment.
- Be capable of taking tasks to completion in the allotted time.
- Solid communication skills across the organization as well as a strong attention to details. Ability to understand mechanical assemblies preferred.
- Develop sourcing strategies across all product families using historical and forecasted data to meet customer expectations.
- Perform necessary ERP system inputs on a daily basis, including order requirements, material receipts and Inventory adjustments.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers.
- Continually strives to maintain the lowest available cost structure and lead times for all items purchased.
- Take responsibility for Inventory management systems and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability as expected.
- Make recommendations for changes to the build forecast as needed based on inventory levels and allocations.
- Ensure that all paperwork requirements for purchasing function are completed and forwarded to the accounting department within the established time frames.
- Follow up on all purchase orders and expedite if necessary.
The person in this position has access to various reports and records, which are considered as being of a highly confidential and classified nature. None of this material or information may be divulged or passed on to any outside source by the employee either during or after employment with the Company.
Education and / or Experience :
Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and ERP / MRP computer programs.Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing procurement role, ideally in a metal fabrication environment.Strong understanding of Inventory controls to include cycle counting and managing inventory levels.Experience with overseas sourcing and transportation strategies.Exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Integrity above reproach.Benefits :
