Job Description

The Process Engineer will provide engineering support by overseeing assigned production operations, handling technical issues as a contact for customers, troubleshooting product production issues, and improving processes to ensure quality, safety, and economic viability.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø Develop process / project engineering plans for assigned projects and present to corporate engineering and site management.

Ø Lead and / or support engineering projects at the facility, including ensuring the success in meeting various objectives such as schedule, budget, and related

Ø Support the development of a project budget and monitor expenses, adjust and offset expenses in other areas if necessary

Ø Consults with contractors, vendors, and / or suppliers to finalize engineering project specs and / or installations

Ø Reports back to the site management team and corporate engineering on project status

Ø Meet with relevant customers to ensure needs are met and / or find and determine the relevant path forward, and justify it by business objectives.

Ø Support and / or lead the development and writing of manufacturing SOPs and / or work instructions with Process Leads.

Ø Oversee assigned ongoing production jobs

Ø Direct production personnel working on assigned projects

Ø Prioritize critical tasks to meet production goals

Ø Oversee and / or run production and / or development jobs

Ø Implement the production schedule put forth by the Operations Manager and / or the Production Manager

Ø Implement equipment / process training programs for Operators

Ø Provide coverage for Production Operators during breaks and as schedule dictates

Ø Project Scale-up and Process Improvement

Ø Identify process bottlenecks and develop a streamlining strategy

Ø Coordinate the implementation of the streamlining project

Ø Coordinate process improvement efforts and communicate to customers as appropriate

Ø Work closely with other members of the engineering team to scale up the design of new processes and equipment

Ø Work closely with other members of the engineering team on equipment installation, streamlining, and troubleshooting

Ø Work with the Site Manager to identify areas for process improvement

Ø Regularly update the status of projects with Management

Ø Work in multi-function teams

Ø Work closely with the Project Manager to understand customer expectations

Ø Work closely with the Project Manager to evaluate job costs for current and future proposals

Ø Provide technical expertise and be a technical resource for the company

Ø Report maintenance issues / requests to the Maintenance team

Ø Identify routine maintenance failures and provide long-term solutions

Ø Be the technical lead for key customer accounts as defined

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

v Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related, and / or equivalent experience

v 1-5+ years’ experience in a chemical / food manufacturing environment with BS Degree.

v Food manufacturing plant experience strongly preferred.

v Knowledge of ISO, QSR / GMP, and quality processes and procedures preferred
