Systems Programmer / Developer II Department of PHS / BMIC
Job Description Summary : The Biomedical Informatics program at the Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a programmer / developer to support the Cancer Center Shared Resource (CIDER) program. The role involves programming and data science research development in Python and R, building infrastructure for machine learning projects, managing server environments, extracting and processing data, documenting code, and collaborating with research teams to prepare reports, publications, and presentations throughout the grant process.
Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma and three years of work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, design and development of system software, or testing and debugging of system software. An associates or bachelors degree in a related field is acceptable in lieu of the required work experience.
Physical Requirements
Continuous 6?8 hours per shift : Ability to perform job functions in an upright or seated position, walk / mobile, work indoors, perform repetitive motions, reach in all directions, maintain tactile sensation, lift 15 lbs. Frequently : Walk, sit, lift objects, push / pull 15 lbs., perform fine motor movements. Occasional : Work in confined spaces, dusty areas.
