Special Education School BCBA Overview
The Behavior Analyst is responsible for the development of clinical and educational programming within the classrooms they supervise. The BCBA will develop and conduct individual behavioral assessments and develop students’ behavior support plans. The BCBA will oversee the implementation of the students’ behavior support plan, data collection and frequent data review. In addition, the behavior analyst will supervise classroom teachers, assisting in the development and implementation of the educational curriculum and individual students’ IEP / ISPs. The BCBA will ensure that the programs are appropriate to the ages and populations served. The behavior analyst will work with residential team members to ensure that there is consistent programming across multiple environments. The behavior analyst will maintain regular communication with parents and facilitate family training. The BCBA will provide school staff with training and evaluation ensuring consistent implementation of student specific programming.
Schedule and Salary Information
- Monday- Friday 8am-4 : 30pm (year-round school program)
- Starting Salary : $78,890.00 (+) based on years of experience
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Clinical Psychology or a closely related field.Significant experience and training in functional behavior assessment, preference assessments, and the application of behavior analytic interventions for students with significant intellectual / developmental disabilities and severe challenging behaviorExperience in a school setting and / or special education emphasis preferable.A valid US Driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.BCBA Responsibilities
Develops clinical programming within classrooms. Develops and conducts individual behavioral assessments (e.g., functional behavior assessments, functional analysis, preference assessments) and develop students’ behavior support plans. Ensures the consistent implementation of the students’ behavior support plan,Directly supervises classroom teachers and provides training, coaching and evaluation of these positions. Assists classroom teachers in the supervision, training, and evaluation of ABA-Counselors and ensures that adequate staffing patterns are maintained.Develops educational programming within classrooms in collaboration with teachers and curriculum coordinators. Assists in the development and implementation of educational curriculum and students’ IEP / ISPs.Assists the Director of Education to ensure all educational programs meet regulatory standards. Assures compliance with all regulatory / licensing agencies and cooperates with officials of such agencies during applicable survey processesBenefits
