Position Description :

We are looking for an Entry Level Civil / Environmental Engineer to join our Community Design Team to improve infrastructure in our Traverse City office. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and have zero to four years of related experience. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities include :

• Design civil projects that may include water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, roads, bridges, open drains, pedestrian pathways, parks, utility / miscellaneous infrastructure improvement designs, etc.
• Perform evaluations, and prepare design reports including opinion of construction costs
• Develop construction plans using local and state standards
• Review and interpret plans and specifications
• Prepare / assist with technical specifications and permit submittals
• Assist Project Managers with review of scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
• Self-monitor task budgets and progress
• Document design changes and communications
• Conduct on-site inspections and field evaluations as needed for design purposes
• Prepare project status reports, technical memorandums and other written correspondence
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and scope of work
• Assist Project Managers as needed
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment
