Technology & Systems Department

The Technology & Systems department drives technological innovation for the company and advances the technology strategy to support global growth. This includes IT, Software Development, OT / Automation Systems, and business process improvement. At Vantage, we are very hands on. In most cases, we specify, purchase, configure and maintain all networking and server hardware. We also work closely with partner VARs to learn about the latest technology changes, so we can make informed purchase decisions. The Technology & Systems department participates in designing each of our new data center building's networking infrastructure, including but not limited to diverse pathways connecting to carriers, meet-me room hosting (rack, cabs, ladders, cross connect panels...), wireless AP coverage, etc.

We rely on extreme collaboration with Sales, Construction, Operations and Corporate Functions to drive simplification, establish global standards with continuous improvement and speed to value. We are working to build a reliable, scalable, sustainable, and secure technology roadmap / landscape that enables us to better serve our customers and employees and be the partner of choice. Our focus is on speed to value with financial and execution field. We strive to double the good, halve the bad, in half the time.

Position Overview

This role can be based in Denver, CO, following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office, 2 days flexible).

Vantage is looking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer with Power BI expertise to join our Data & Analytics team. This role involves architecting and building robust data pipelines and analytical solutions on Microsoft Azure, as well as designing and developing compelling Power BI dashboards for business users. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Azure data services, ETL processes, data modeling, and visualization. The IT Digital Products team includes the following areas : Enterprise Architecture, Custom Digital Solutions, Integrations, Enterprise Data Management (EDM), Sophisticated analytics, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). As a key contributor this position will interface regularly with technology leaders and internal groups such Operations and Sales. The ability to influence and foster consensus across teams at all organizational levels is essential to be successful in this role. A good understanding of business processes, challenges and goals is required to provide insightful ideas and creative solutions when faced with issues. The role will suit someone who is forward-thinking and can navigate obstacles well.

Essential Job Functions

Write Data and Reporting solutions using modern SaaS and PaaS cloud services.

Perform Power BI platform assessment for secure, scalable, and cost-effective report deployments, identify gaps in existing BI Platform, and recommend changes or improvements.

Coach junior developers about best practices.

Create and maintains existing databases.

Participate in risk assessments for modern technologies and projects.

Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Implement data quality, data governance, and performance tuning practices to ensure reliability and scalability.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.

Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and best practice enforcement.

Duties

Employ secure and scalable framework development processes.

Employ secure and scalable data modeling processes.

Layout BI and Data Frameworks following the Well Architected Framework.

Document security requirements and controls for protecting information, systems, and technology assets.

Define and document how the implementation of modern technology impacts the security posture of the current environment.

Document and update as necessary all definition and architecture activities.

Communicate current and emerging application and data innovations to technical team members.

Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering & architecture.

Good understanding of any visual types, data modelling and ETL pipelines.

Strong data source analysis skills to locate data and business rules.

Experience delivering solutions and insights on the Microsoft Azure platform with exposure to Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL DB, Power BI or Azure ADLS Gen2.

Experience implementing CI / CD pipelines using DevOps tools in Github / Azure DevOps.

Experience with Data Modeling - Dimension and Facts tables, snowflake schema.

Broad knowledge of internet protocols, firewalls, proxies.

Experienced communication and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task and quickly contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project

Bilingual in either English / French or English / German would be highly desirable but not required.

Functions of this position are to be performed in a company-designated office or field location in-line with the company flexible working policy, minimum of 2 days a week.

Travel required is expected to be 10% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

Salary Range : $130,000 - $135,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on CO market data and may vary in other locations)

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
