• Work in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) caring for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually
• Care for patients undergoing procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemakers
• Manage approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op)
• Specialize in care of patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies
• Participate in national clinical trials through NISUS research department
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Possible on-call responsibilities
• Must be willing to float to similar units
• Strict 3 strike attendance policy - absences or being more than 20 minutes late 3 times results in immediate termination
• 1 year of experience required (floating experience not considered)
• EKG comfortability required
• Neuro, CVICU, Trauma experience preferred
• Managing ventilators preferred
• CRRT and Balloon Pumps experience preferred
• Required certifications : ACLS, BLS
• Michigan nursing license required with LARA and Nursys verification
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
