Position Overview

We’re looking for a bilingual (English / Spanish), detail-oriented, and dependable Underwriter to join our Verifications Department at MEI Auto Finance. In this role, you will review credit applications and supporting documents, verify employment and residency, and make credit decisions for subprime loan applications submitted by our dealership network.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multitask efficiently, and communicates effectively with both internal teams and customers in both English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities

Review and verify customer documents submitted with credit applications

Analyze credit bureaus and assess loan risk for subprime applicants

Make outbound calls to complete employment and residency verifications (in English and Spanish as needed)

Record and track findings and decisions in the loan processing system

Identify and document any discrepancies or deficiencies

Communicate professionally with dealership teams and applicants in both languages

Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and confidentiality policies

Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages

Ability to manage high-volume tasks and maintain accuracy

Comfortable working in a team environment

Customer service experience preferred, but not required

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Work authorization in the United States

Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer and phone

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

Must be able to pass a background check

Compensation and Schedule

Annual Salary : $65,000 (based on experience)

Schedule : Monday – Friday, Full-Time
