Job description

ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Opportunity : RN - Med Surg

Job Details :

  • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM
  • 16-week assignment with choice of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Patient ratios of 1 : 4-6
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • 2 years of experience required, no first-time travelers accepted
  • Float within service line to meet facility needs
  • Required certifications : BLS
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Required skills : Med / Surg, Telemetry remote monitoring, Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care / Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, Insulin, PCA
  • Must pass Relias EKG exam
  • Care for patients with ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU, and medical overflow on high turnover surgery patient unit
  • Administer various drips including Heparin, Lidocaine, Bicarb, Bivaldirubin, and occasionally Amiodarone
  • Manage PCAs, Epidurals, and CBIs with different irrigation solutions
  • Perform special procedures including foleys, continuous bladder irrigation, TURPS protocols for colorectal patients
  • Work with centralized telemetry monitoring
  • 32 patient daily census with 38 bed unit
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • No more than 7 days RTO per contract
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from facility

    This is a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center with 1,266 staffed beds, holding Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The facility operates as a short-term acute care hospital with comprehensive specialty services and interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes Epic charting system throughout their healthcare network.
