Provide assistance and guidance to the attorneys in the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office by reviewing their work product; discussing cases and the impact of recent changes in the law; and attending court appearances and trials with attorneys in the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office;
Assist with supervising the attorneys and support staff in the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office;
Assist in preparing staff and attorney evaluations;
Complete other tasks delegated by the Section Chief, First Assistant Corporation Counsel or Corporation Counsel.
Draft, review, and negotiate pleas and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and opinions.
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New Jersey Bar and a valid New Jersey license to practice law.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in municipal law or a related field, with a focus on criminal law and legal counsel.
Strong knowledge of New Jersey municipal law, regulations, and procedures.
Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community members, and legal professionals.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
