RN Manager Emergency Room (Permanent Role)

  • Location : Salem, VA 24153
  • Shift : Variable
  • Job Type : Permanent
  • Guaranteed Hours : (40 hours / week)
  • Compensation : Based on experience (Negotiable)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse Manager to join our healthcare team and help lead the Emergency Department in providing outstanding patient care. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and assume responsibility for daily operations of the Emergency Department in the absence of the Director.
  • Plan and allocate staffing and resources according to unit workload and operational demands.
  • Participate in the development, review, and revision of unit policies and clinical standards.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, interviews, hiring, and performance evaluations in accordance with policy.
  • Ensure all staff maintain current licensure, competencies, and complete mandatory in-services.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and orientation of new employees, students, and volunteers.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.

    • Required Requirements :

  • Education :

    • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (required)

  • BSN preferred or enrollment in an accredited BSN program
  • Licensure / Certification :

    • Current RN license in the state of Virginia or active compact license with VA eligibility (required)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) American Heart Association (required)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 1 year of hire
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 1 year of hire
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
  • BCLS Instructor required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS Instructor preferred or required within 1 year of hire
  • Experience :

    • Must have prior ER (Emergency Room) management experience
