Establishes nursing care objectives. Defines nursing interventions. Provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. Assists in understanding patient conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Notes changes in patient conditions and needs. Re-evaluates care objectives. Assures quality care by adhering to professional standards and healthcare organization policies and procedures. Maintains cooperative relationships among healthcare team members. Ensures a safe and healthy patient care environment. Adheres to infection control policies and medication administration procedures. Alerts others regarding potential concerns. Documents patient care services accurately and comprehensively. Protects confidentiality and alerts others of potential breaches. Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess and evaluate patient care plans. Modifies patient treatment plans based on patients' responses and conditions. Monitors all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Instructs individuals and families on health education and disease prevention. Reviews provider orders and communicates the nursing care plan effectively. Confers with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care. Provides emotional and psychological support to patients and families. Resolves patient issues through effective communication. Maintains standards of professional nursing care. Promotes a culture of safety and advocates for patient safety needs. Develops nursing care plans based on comprehensive assessments. Administers medications and performs wound care while monitoring patients for reactions or side effects. Prepares patients for exams and assists as needed. Explains procedures to alleviate apprehension and ensure understanding. Demonstrates IV therapy competency, including care for central lines. Recognizes and responds to adverse signs and symptoms in emergency situations. Supervises and delegates duties appropriately to ancillary staff. Ensures compliance with safety standards and accreditation. Carries out other duties as necessary to fulfill the organization’s mission and values.
