Class Summary
The Collaborative Pianist provides accompaniment for select choirs, student performances, private lesson instruction, and departmental events. This part-time position requires strong sight-reading and rehearsal skills, flexibility across musical styles, and a commitment to supporting both faculty and student musicians. The pianist will rehearse and perform regularly with ensembles and soloists, contribute to juries and recitals, and maintain a professional, collegial presence within the music program. Hours vary by semester, aligning with the rehearsal and performance calendar.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Demonstrated piano proficiency with excellent sight-reading skills.
• Experience in collaborating and performing with individuals and groups in a wide variety of musical styles and genres.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
• Master's degree.
• Advanced musical and pianistic skills with 5 or more years of collaborative piano experience.

Job Duties
• Available to rehearse and perform with choirs, soloists, and ensembles, and also play for juries, recitals, and auditions.
• May assist with private lessons and student performances, ensuring reliable preparation and flexibility with varied repertoire.
• Has a strong sight-reading ability, stylistic versatility (classical, musical theatre, etc.), and collaborative sensitivity.
• Is punctual, reliable, and able to work collegially with faculty, staff, and students.
• This is a part-time role with variable hours depending on the performance and rehearsal calendar.
Physical Requirements
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing, and reaching, flexibility, and body movement for bending, crouching, walking, and kneeling.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 15 lbs.
Minimum Salary Range
$32.45/hr
