Job Title : Resident Assistant / Security / Transport
Classification : Non-exempt
Reports to : Facilities Administrator
Position Overview
This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents and employees. It is responsible for the supervision of residents in the evening and nighttime hours ensuring program rules and policies are followed, monitoring clients in detox, and assisting supervisory staff as needed. This position will also transport clients safely as needed and authorized to and from the facility.
Essential Functions
- Maintains order and security of residents in the facility.
- Monitor property entrances and exits
- Respond to resident needs, conflicts and emergency situations in a preventative fashion as to
reduce volatile situations and provide crisis intervention, when needed
Authorize entrance of people and vehiclesReport any suspicious behaviors and happeningsSecure all exits, doors, and windowsMonitor surveillance cameras when neededRespond to alarms and react in a timely mannerTransport clients to and from facility as needed and authorizedMonitor clients in detox for withdrawal symptoms, changes in behavior, or medical complications.Observe self-administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medications according to physician orders and facility policies.Provide support and reassurance to clients experiencing withdrawal, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.Other Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsProvide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge / skillsProvide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, suppliers, and staffPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility
This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities
Travel

High School Diploma or GEDCPR / First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Valid Driver License with Clean Driving Record – REQUIREDMinimum 1 year experience in security, transportation, AOD facility, or related role.Knowledge of boundaries, confidentiality (HIPAA), and AOD program safety practicesCore Competencies
