SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Material Team Lead is a key factory staff member responsible for leading the inspection and monitoring of programs and processes that support the Shipping and Warehouse departments within Kimber Manufacturing. The Material Team Lead will work in concert with cross-functional teams and other departments to provide support in achieving quality goals defined and established by upper management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Experience working packing stations and handling various products
- Familiarity with UPS, UPS Hazmat, UPS Freight, FedEx, LTL shipments and Trade shows is a plus
- Ensure part quality as specified by management
- Meet or exceed quality standards throughout the inspection process to guarantee the flow of parts expectation
- Demonstrable multi-function expertise and leadership skills to assign work, monitor area performance and suggest process improvement
- Accurately and efficiently perform several operational tasks, including trouble shooting and research
- Ability to demonstrate and operate multiple types of material handling, packaging, and warehouse equipment
- Perform several specialized warehouse operational functions within the operating guidelines of the facility
- Identify and present process improvements for consideration and implementation
- Demonstrate working knowledge or proficiency in one or more assigned areas of responsibility
- Accurately read production schedule, customer’s orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line
- Assembly customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
- Accurately mark materials with identifying information
- Ability to open bales, crates, and other containers
- Housekeeping duties include all forms of shipping and warehouse cleanup but not limited to waste, wood, general refuse disposal, wiping, wet and dry cleaning, sweeping and / or mopping inside and outside
- Accurately record the amount of materials or items received or distributed
- Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
- Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
- Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
- Operate hand truck, cart, dollies, forklift,“man-up” order-picker, to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment
- Serve as an effective communicator of daily production requirements between the supervisor and other departments; emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity
- Develop, sustain and improve material handling methods and procedures
- Experience determining offsets and ability to adjust accordingly
- Accurately and efficiently train and audit employees progress
- Ensure that employees have all necessary equipment, standards, and PPE to perform jobs safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Develop standard work, setup sheets, and standard operations for production jobs
- Provide performance feedback to all members assigned to the warehouse and shipping departments in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate and notify supervisor all matters that affect productivity that cannot be resolved by the lead
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word and excel)
- Accurately make independent decisions on product disposition
- Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
- Adhere and monitor SOP
- Understand / learn the nature and functionality of the products being handled
- Must be able to accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database
- Complete other duties as assigned by manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities to oversee the warehouse and shipping departments.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality performance reports and create solutions. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
