Position Summary and Areas of Responsibility

ACAMS Next Gen Product Director is responsible for ACAMS' new product line, offering an AI-enabled AFC AI Assistant to answer questions, provide guidelines, and resources to AFC professionals worldwide. The Product Director will lead market research through product pilots, optimize product performance, and determine key features that enable increased adoption. The role holder will drive global adoption of solutions that help prevent financial crime and protect the integrity of the financial system worldwide, oversee the customer journey across the product line, and ensure products are easy to use, competitive, add value, and achieve commercial goals. With deep expertise in AFC, this role combines subject-matter knowledge with a strategic, cross-functional approach. The role will own the product line, manage the Enterprise proposal, and gain insights into product usage, customer feedback, and market trends to drive continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.

Job Duties

  • Product Management – Lead the build, deployment, and refinement of the next-gen SaaS product line, overseen commercial performance, and ensured alignment with company goals.
  • Competitive and Market Research – Conduct ongoing competitive and market research, identify trends, analyze competitor offerings, and understand market demands to inform product iterations and pilot testing.
  • Customer Experience Ownership – Champion the customer experience across the product journey, analyzing user feedback, satisfaction, and engagement to drive improvements.
  • Product Performance – Manage product performance by tracking metrics, usage data, and customer insights using a data-driven approach to inform strategic decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership – Act as a cross-functional leader working closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Thought Leadership to align product messaging and support.
  • Product Feedback Loop – Establish and maintain a feedback loop with customers and internal stakeholders to monitor product quality and prioritize updates.
  • Market and Product Expertise – Serve as an in-house expert on anti-financial crime and related fields, offering insights into industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer needs.
  • Support to Head of AFC Product & Solutions – Partner with the ACAMS Head of Product & Solutions to support strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence across the Product department.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in business, technology, law, finance, economics, politics, international relations, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, ideally within financial services.
  • 5+ years of experience with software products, including release of Beta, MVP, and GA products.
  • Expertise in anti-financial crime, compliance, or related areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience conducting market and competitive research to support product strategy.
  • Proven track record in product performance and improving customer experience through data-driven insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives at all levels.
  • Experience working closely with IT teams, drafting user stories, requirements, and implementing projects in phases.
  • Experience in product operations, including metrics tracking, usage analysis, and customer feedback.
  • Strong commercial acumen and comprehensive understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, reorganizing environment with a collaborative, adaptable mindset.
  • Proactive thinker with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and ability to prioritize.
  • Experience in service / solution design in large complex international organizations such as financial services, consulting, or software.
  • Customer-facing experience ideally at senior levels including C-suite.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a fluent English speaker.
  • Ability to work flexible (off) hours when meeting deadlines and occasionally in line with other ACAMS regions' time zones.
  • Ability to travel as required.
