About the position
The Pediatric Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct patient care and administrative support in a pediatric setting. This position ensures the highest quality of care for children while maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for families. The MA assists pediatric providers with clinical tasks, supports front-office operations, and contributes to a smooth, efficient workflow throughout the clinic.
Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Previous experience in Pediatrics
- Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications
Responsibilities
Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring comfort and reassurance.Obtain and record vital signs, growth measurements, and patient histories.Administer immunizations and medications (as permitted by state regulations).Assist providers with physical exams, minor procedures, and specimen collections.Maintain clean and stocked exam roomsEnsure all testing results and procedure are documented in patient charts in a timely manner.Skills and Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children and parents, and have customer service skills.Compassion, Patience, and ability to work effectively with young patients.Attention to detail and accuracy in charting, immunization records, and medications.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced pediatric environment.Ensure a steady work flow and uninterrupted service.Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and time management.Benefits
