Job Summary :
Manual Machinist 2 is responsible for fabrication, repair and remanufacturing of parts, tools and components of the industrial centrifuge products serviced by the company. This position utilizes industrial machine equipment such as lathes, milling machines, presses and grinders to produce and repair precise and high-quality components for the shop, service and parts teams. They do this by applying their knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties and machining procedures

Always keep safety of self and others as the highest priority.Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specificationsCalculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, accessories and materials onto the machinesMachine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill press, or grinders.Study sample parts, blueprints, and engineering information to determine best methods and sequence of operations.Consult with other members of the shop team and management on best ways to fabricate, repair or modify components.Act as a consultant to the engineering team on manufacturing methodology related to the design and fabrication of parts and components.Examine parts for defects and repair where possible.Layout, measure and mark metal stock to proper lengths and tolerances.Design fixtures, tooling and procedures to fabricate, modify or repair componentsPerform general maintenance on the equipment including lubricating, cleaning, and replacing consumable components.Listen to and observe equipment for signs of machine malfunction and to determine if maintenance is needed.Exchange technical information both verbally and in writing with various members of the organization including engineering, customer service, sales and management.Support continuous improvement efforts by evaluating procedures, recommending changes or modifications for improved efficiency and participating in lesson learned activities.Track time working on job orders by logging onto job in Shop Floor Manager.Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.Safely operate cranes, forklift and other industrial equipment.Support, mentor and train Manual Machinist 1’s and other shop personnel on the methods and procedures to fabricate, repair and modify components.Represent Separators in alignment with the Separators Way.Other duties as assigned.Always represent Separators Inc. in a professional and courteous manner.Requirements & Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.3 to 5 years of previous work experience as a manual machinist.Knowledge of metal properties and other material.Outstanding mathematical skills necessary to perform the arithmetic functions such as add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure necessary to calculate dimensions and tolerances.Strong mechanical aptitude.Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills with multitasking ability.Thorough understanding of specifications, blueprints, manuals and mechanical drawings.Great verbal and written communication skills.Utilize complex problem-solving techniques and critical thinking in support of assignments.Self-Starter, Ability to work independently under general supervision.Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity and physical endurance, such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods.Previous experience with remanufacturing processes.Basic skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, TEAMS, etc.), preferred.Job Type
