South LA All In (SLAAI) is a multi-year, coalition-driven initiative to address longstanding racial and socioeconomic inequities in South Los Angeles – with a focus on underserved areas east of the 110-freeway. South LA All In aims to strengthen the community’s economic recovery from COVID-19 while positioning residents and businesses to benefit economically from the influx of infrastructure and community investment leading up to the 2028 Olympics.

Under the direction and leadership of the Chief Community Innovation Officer, the Director of South LA All In will oversee the South LA All In (SLAAI) initiative. The Director of SLAAI will work collaboratively with community stakeholders, CBOs, elected officials, the philanthropic sector and local government partners in the SLAAI initiative, building regional capacity to secure key investments and resources for the community.

Through the collaborative efforts of South LA All In partners and stakeholders, key infrastructure and community-focused investments have been secured in the following priority areas : Good Jobs, Education, Housing Stability & Affordability, Access to Capital and Social Infrastructure. Key SLAAI initiatives include :

• Community Grants Program : community-driven grants for South LA organizations.
• South LA Is Home : Faith-based affordable housing capacity building series.
• Helping Families Thrive : Economic mobility pilot for homeless families.
• Good Jobs Network : Workforce development collaborative of 15 grassroots and small CBOs.
• South LA Strong : Nonprofit capacity building bootcamp.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

¨ Oversee implementation and fiscal management of South LA All In (SLAAI) initiatives in the following priority areas : Good Jobs, Education, Access to Capital, Affordable & Stable Housing and Social Infrastructure.

¨ Establish and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders for the SLAAI initiative, including but not limited to community members, CBOs, funders, City and County agencies, public system partners, neighborhood groups, local government, regional community colleges, etc.

¨ Plan and execute SLAAI convenings, collaborative meetings, events, community meetings and other forms of dynamic engagement to meet the needs of SLAAI partners and stakeholders.

¨ Inform and implement SLAAI communications strategy in partnership with CRCD’s Marketing & Communications Team, partners and stakeholders, including maintenance of the SLAAI website.

¨ Provide strategy, guidance and support for SLAAI Community Engagement and Backbone implementation teams through regular team meetings, direct supervision and co-supervision structures of SLAAI staff and 6 AmeriCorps VISTA members.

¨ Collaborate and coordinate with internal CRCD departments to scale CRCD’s core services within the greater South Los Angeles region.

¨ Create and manage SLAAI resident advisory committee and other community facing engagement strategies.

¨ Develop policy or advocacy strategies related to regional capacity building and resource development for SLAAI region.

¨ Coordinate closely with CRCD’s Learning & Evaluation Department to track and report on key SLAAI impact measures.

¨ Develop and implement an ongoing capacity building strategy and resources for CBO groups and other stakeholders in the SLAAI region.

¨ Participate and inform fund development efforts and prospecting activities to support the SLAAI initiatives.

¨ Maintain a database of SLAAI implementation partners, ambassadors and community leaders.

¨ Uphold CRCD’s Mission Statement and 5 Year Strategic Plan.

Requirements :

¨ 5 years’ experience or related work and Bachelors-level degree in a related field.

¨ Strong familiarity with South LA community, stakeholders and political factors.

¨ Comfortability working in South LA and engaging with residents and stakeholders.

¨ Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and assets.

¨ Experience in establishing strategic partnerships that result in collective impact.

¨ Reliable, flexible team player who works well with minimal supervision, has an exceptional work ethic, and an ability to set and maintain personal boundaries.

¨ Strong staff management experience, with the ability and interest to work closely with staff members to set and achieve individual and team goals.

¨ Excellent and adaptive communication skills, both oral and written, ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization to create buy-in.

¨ Proven experience as senior leadership, high performing Director, or relevant role.

¨ Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.

¨ Reliable transportation : valid driver's license, and car insurance as required by law, as appropriate.

SALARY RANGE

$96,000-$105,000 annually
