Job Title : Marine Interdiction Specialist This is a challenging career opportunity for individuals who are passionate about enforcing maritime law and ensuring the safety of international trade.
Duties :
Monitor suspicious behavior patterns and activities of vessels, vehicles or persons engaged in illicit activities.
Conduct searches for contraband or weapons incidental to detention or arrest.
Analyze and collect strategic and tactical intelligence to support operations.
Responsibilities :
As a Marine Interdiction Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting marine-based law enforcement operations to detect, prevent, intercept, and apprehend terrorists, terrorist weapons, and other contraband and persons attempting to enter the United States illegally.
Requirements :
You must have a qualifying Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) as a minimum qualification requirement.
A valid driver's license is also required.
Benefits :
This position offers a grade level progression from GS-11 to GS-13. You may be eligible for automatic promotions after completing 52-weeks at each grade level with supervisor approval and meeting any additional training, licensing, and certification requirements.
Age Requirement :
Candidates must be referred for selection before reaching their 40th birthday in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Directive 251-03.
