Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with NM or compact license eligibility, Level I trauma background, and advanced certifications for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department at a large, acute care, teaching hospitalNight shift position with 12-hour shifts (36 or 48 hour per week options available)Patient population includes high acuity emergency and admit-hold cases, with frequent ED holding due to high admission ratesRN-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Possible floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needsOptional floating to Peds ED; potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma depending on demandUses Cerner for chartingWeekend shifts are required as needed, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nightsPrimary duties include emergency care for patients of all acuities, including medication administration and rapid clinical assessmentFirst-time travelers are accepted if they meet Level I trauma experience requirementsNo call requirement for this positionScrub color is black and not providedRTO greater than 7 days requires approval, and no RTO can be taken during the first or last week of assignmentHoliday shifts may be required as part of scheduled weekendsTravelers can work up to 12 consecutive months before requiring a break between assignmentsFormer perm employees are eligible to return as travelers after 12 months out of the systemOrientation includes required modules and compliance training with strict deadlinesRequirements
Active NM or compact state RN license; pending license accepted at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of ED experience required, Level I trauma experience strongly preferredPrior travel experience is strongly preferred, but applicants with at least 2 years of Level I Trauma experience may be consideredRequired certifications : ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must be active at time of submission), PALS, NIHSS (can be pending at compliance deadline)No RQI certifications acceptedCOVID-19 vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentationValid, non-local Driver’s License required; if unavailable, a written transportation plan must be providedCandidates must live at least 75 miles from the facilityPhysical and drug screening required before startingBenefits
