About The Position

Job Title : Operating Room RN

Profession : Nursing

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum one year medical / surgical experience preferred; preceptorship, charge and leadership abilities preferred for experienced RNs.

License : Current NYS RN license or eligible

Certifications : BLS required; ACLS preferred

Must-Have :

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Successful completion and passing grade on the final exam is mandatory and a condition of employment as an Operating Room RN.

Thorough knowledge of nursing principles.

Ability to provide quality patient care.

Ability to assess patients' needs, e.g., clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual.

Recognize safety issues to self and others.

Ability to assess and implement the use of lifts to move patients safely.

Ability to function well in stressful situations.

Strong, creative problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.

May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge in the use of typical clinical equipment instrumentation utilized in providing a safe and / or aseptic environment in an OR / ASU setting.

Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills.

On-call required (Response time of 30 minutes).
