Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 03 / 2025 Duration : 16 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 10 hours, evenings Employment Type : Local Contract Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PACU RN to join our perioperative care team. The PACU RN is responsible for the critical recovery phase of patients emerging from anesthesia after surgical procedures. This role requires strong assessment skills, rapid decision-making, and a commitment to safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities : Monitor patients post-operatively for adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgical complications Assess vital signs, airway patency, consciousness level, pain, and surgical site status Administer medications, including pain management and antiemetics, as ordered Provide critical post-op education to patients and families before discharge or transfer Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams to ensure continuity of care Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to hospital policies Qualifications : Active RN license in good standing Minimum 2 years of nursing experience , with at least 1 year in PACU, ICU, or critical care BLS and ACLS certifications required Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills Ability to manage rapidly changing patient conditions in a high-acuity environment Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K offered.
