Job Description
Develop detailed technical specifications and designs for waterfall / XP projects / system enhancements.
Provide application domain knowledge to the ADM team.
Manage unstable applications / systems by helping to resolve incidents and issues.
Support infrastructure first build with Solution Architects and Infrastructure Engineers.
Review, guide, troubleshoot and resolve contentious issues escalated during implementation.
Evaluate integration of SaaS / COTS packages into the current environment.
Develop operating procedures and user manuals for transition into routine operations.
Enable building of knowledge databases for technology, solutions, and domain areas.
Work with architecture, application services, infrastructure, release management, and other stakeholders for smooth deployment.
Capture and transfer tacit knowledge to vendors and knowledge management systems.
Maintain the common I / O access subsystem (database access layer).
Maintain in-house utilities for database management and integrity.
Manage test platforms and files used by developers.
Collaborate with system analysts and solution engineers to translate requirements into secure, scalable designs.
Manage VSAM performance through design and buffering.
Administer CICS VR forward recovery utility.
Respond to audit requests and manage related reports.
Handle CICS ABEND reporting.
Troubleshoot production and test problems.
Conduct capacity planning.
Test system software upgrades.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of IT experience, or relevant certifications and experience.
Knowledge areas include application configuration, Big Data Analytics, Cloud computing, Integration Technologies, Mobile technologies, Scripting Languages, SOA, Web Technologies, SDLC methodologies, and system performance management.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, specific VSAM and database support skills, and experience with related applications and processes.
